The 100 Day Project
I love projects. I love challenges. I love doing what the cool crafty kids are doing. Call it creative FOMO.
Actually, let me edit that.
I love STARTING projects. I love STARTING challenges. I love buying all the things, following all the hashtags, and getting amped up to do what the cool crafting kids are doing. But...let's not lie, I don't finish many of the the "things."
But despite recognizing this flaw and vicious crafting pattern, I still jump on the bandwagon every year. And here we got again.
The 100 Day Project.
You can find lots more info here at https://www.the100dayproject.org/. But in their own words:
"#The100DayProject is a free art project that takes place online. Every spring, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity...The idea is simple: choose a project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your process on Instagram with the hashtag #The100DayProject."
I think the reason I failed in the past was because I was just trying to pick something that I could just do for 100 days. And ultimately, I think the motivator for me has to be an actual end product...a physical goal to attain.
So for this year, we're going to try 100 days of 4" stitches. It might be stitching something in the smallest 4" x 4" embroidery hoop on my beloved embroidery machine, or some random hand stitches on pretty fabric while we're off somewhere on vacation. But I want to commit to something with thread and fabric that can ultimately be hooped into a little 4" diameter embroidery hoop.
Maybe I arrange all of of those hoops into a wall decoration or gift each one as the occasion comes up. Regardless, that's the plan.
The amazon orders are in and the packages should arrive today, just in time to start #the100dayproject tomorrow, April 2. I'll be sharing my progress on instagram if you want to follow along: #100dayprojectmadebyvan #100daysof4inchstiches.
Let's see if I can actually finish this project this year!!
